Review of Fit My Cat

As the title suggests, you may probably tell that this is a game where anything goes. Indeed, Fit My Cat is just as easy to use as it seems. Like any good spatial puzzler, this one gradually increases in difficulty over its hundred or so levels—at least in the beginning.

Fit My Cat is a simple spatial/tile puzzle game from RedDeerGames where your goal is to fit a lot of different cats into a limited amount of space. They sit if they fit. And if they do, you will be well rewarded for the rest of your life as a puzzle master. If nothing else, it will allow you to proceed to the next problem, which will be in a new area with even more cats.

Put those kitties in that area.

This one is simpler to play and grasp. Your task is to jam as many fluffy cats as you can into the limited area by using the left thumbstick to select the cat you want and “A” to pick up and distribute the smaller cats that are tile-bound. These playfields are often versions of a 9×9 grid, some smaller, some larger, and many feature obstacles to restrict where cats can be placed.

With a simple push of RB, you may rotate the cats 90 degrees. As a result, while many of the tiny cats you’ll come to know as your pals will be content to live their lives upright, many of them will also like lounging around on their sides or upside down. These guys are happy to go wherever you need them to fit. You’ll also need to rotate them because Fit My Cat’s cats come in a wide variety of sizes and shapes. Some are little, occupying a single 1×1 square, while others are larger, measuring 2×1 and 3×1. In addition, there are chunks that fit 2×2 and 3×3 spaces. Some of our favorites are “stretchy cat,” “banana cat,” “big-tailed cat,” and “BagPuss.” It’s a task in and of itself to fit these creatures onto the grid and adjust for dangling tails or frisky paws.

Overall, Fit My Cat is a simple, confusing game, especially as you get into the swing of things and realize that most cats fit nicely next to each other and fill in gaps as they go. Even though the latter stages are undoubtedly trickier than the ones that unlock Fit My Cat, some of them feel quite easy to finish because of the placement of obstacles, such as scratching posts, balls of yarn, and cat beds, which restrict access to specific areas to specific cats. Those who are close to 100 should be able to play with you for a few hours, roughly, depending on how well you can comprehend their perplexing wants.

A decent assortment of felines

The display of puzzles is also executed with skill. Fit My Cat appears lovely, vibrant, pastel, and so on. The graphics don’t have to be especially brilliant or amazing, but this game makes due with what it has. Indeed, everything in Fit My Cat is obvious, exact, and clearly defined, with the exception of a very little bit of misunderstanding regarding the falling positions of some cats’ tails and paws. Honestly, the background music has also captivated us a little. You can hear a lot of meows and a soothing, soothing little riff as you make sure these kitties start to feel right at home. Don’t ask me whether my dog has been barking at the screen late at night because of those adorable meows.

It isn’t flawless though. Fit My Cat’s selection feature, which only displays the selected cat as a bold outline, can be a bit awkward at times. We had several questions about the specific cat we had adopted during our stay with Fit My Cat. Likewise, with regard to placement, err on the side of caution while attempting to drop the cat in an inappropriate area; otherwise, you will have to go recover the animal from off the playfield. Additionally, you should be prepared to use Fit My Cat a little bit and try positions that might not work out. Clearing the board and starting over again is seldom too annoying, though, as the levels are often quick to finish.

After you finish those levels, RedDeerGames has kindly offered three more level packs on the Xbox Store at no further charge. There is an additional motivation to play because each of them offers 24 new levels, bringing you closer to base game levels without incurring any further costs.

They sit if they fit.

It is difficult to find fault with a simple tile puzzler that fulfills its intended purpose. Fit My Cat is a great game to spend some time fitting your furry pets into a grid repeatedly, as it offers both achievements and Gamerscore. Although you’ll probably forget this game as soon as the last achievement appears, it will definitely hold your interest for a few hours.
