Playing as a knight banished to an abyss, Kill Knight just asks one thing of you: kill everything. It sounds straightforward, and with many rifles and a melee weapon, you’re surely prepared for the task. However, being surrounded by numerous foes in arenas that change shape around you and present severe risks for you to avoid, you’re likely to die, die, and then die again before making any significant progress.
This abyss contains five layers, which equates to five arenas for you to conquer. In addition, there are four difficulty levels to master, and with a scoring system and online leaderboards, Kill Knight delivers an infinite challenge for those who want to be the best. However, it is likely that you will have to grasp the intricacies of the game before you can score big.
You see, there are numerous difficulties to understand if you want to play Kill Knight well. Take your handguns, for example; if you run out of ammo, you’ll want to conduct an active reload to get back to perforating your foes as soon as possible, and you’ll earn a bonus effect to enhance for a brief time. And then there’s your heavy weapon; if you run out of ammo, you can replace it by killing foes with melee assaults.
That’s only the tip of the iceberg. If you continue to kill foes without allowing your combo meter drop, your attack strength will improve, and if you need to replenish your health at any time, you must charge a gauge in order to launch a devastating special attack. Add in the fact that certain adversaries have armour that must be broken before you can cause significant damage to them, as well as the fact that some have powerful assaults that must be countered with a melee attack, and there’s a lot to keep track of.
However, after you’ve figured out everything there is to do in Kill Knight, you’re likely to be hooked. It’s fast-paced, and managing your hapless knight is enjoyable. Get into the flow, and you’ll be evading opponent assaults in no time, consistently getting flawless reloads, using your special attack to wipe out swarms of foes and replenish your health, and using your sword to keep your heavy ammo stocked for when you need it.
Success in Kill Knight not only allows you to proceed through the numerous layers and perhaps place high on the global leaderboards, but it also provides you with new gear to employ. You can unlock a variety of weapons, armor pieces, and other items by completing specific challenges. Otherwise, you gain currency at the conclusion of each run, which you may use to unlock gear if you’re having problems or simply want to target something quickly.
Finally, Kill Knight is a tough action shooter that challenges you to employ your entire arsenal on your quest for vengeance. While it is a simple premise, it has a significant depth of action, making it relatively distinctive. A lo-fi graphic style adds to the game’s originality, giving it a gloomy and grim appearance. If you enjoy games that reward you for spending the effort to understand their mechanics, check out Kill Knight.
