Operation: Polygon Storm combines brutal combat features with subtle tactical complexity. The outcome is a hard but enjoyable game in which adaptability reigns supreme. Along with this, the creators did an excellent job of developing a gradual learning curve. As a result, both genre veterans and newcomers will find something to enjoy.
Toxic Studio created this auto-battler, which was published by Untold Tales SA. It is also a single-player game with a side-scrolling perspective. This rudimentary design was out of date, but I liked the well-organized battlefields. Additionally, the environment changes because each arena is highly destructible. As a result, plans must evolve and you must learn to adapt.
Operation: Polygon Storm shares unique stories.
There are a few difficult scenarios to tackle. Each location has its own geography, and there are new units and difficulties to solve. Furthermore, each zone features a unique motif. Though the plot isn’t very deep or emotional, the variety of locales and tactics keep you coming back for more.
In addition, there are three difficulty settings to put your skills to the test. Each game provides a tiny reward, and after you have earned the money, you cannot return to rinse it dry. This was fantastic because it removed the sense of “grind” while keeping the motion balanced.
Money, money, money.
As you choose your goal, you can choose your troops and supporting units. Occasionally, you will be limited to a small group of soldiers. However, as you continue, you will have access to larger, tougher, and more expensive alternatives. The combination of units determines your chances of victory. However, it is not as simple as swarming the pitch with men. No, you just earn funds to purchase each troop.
Time and the odd airdrop boost your bank balance. As the money flows in, you must invest in soldiers, snipers, guarded units, and so on. In addition, you may place claymores and other defensive measures to slow your enemy’s assault. The continual back and forth between death and gain was fascinating. Furthermore, it was entertaining to move soldiers to ambush your opponents.
Operation: Polygon Storm is difficult to keep up with.
I adored the side-scrolling perspective. However, the fast-paced action was difficult to control. As troops approach the warzone, you are expected to oppose your adversaries and defend your forces. However, this was not easy. Fortunately, the superb UI and highlighting tool allow you to manage your forces. Furthermore, the distinctive character models are immediately identifiable to help you.
I like the unique level design. Each area differed somewhat, and the devastating power of the cars and barricades was impressive. Furthermore, the frantic action is bearable due to the fluid animation and absence of visual clutter.
The audio is surprisingly loud and harsh. The thumping soundtrack is powerful and furious. As the game progresses, you become accustomed to the heavy beats. Though it wasn’t my thing, it fits the mood and violence. However, I appreciated the outstanding sound effects. The never-ending gunshots and smashing explosives were spectacular.
Excellent controls.
The creator insisted that Operation: Polygon Storm be as basic as possible. Consequently, the control system benefits. The lack of micromanagement was ideal for gamepad use. Furthermore, once you mastered the principles, it was simple to play.
Operation: Polygon Storm has a restricted number of levels to play. However, three difficulty levels and a skill tree for each unit improve replayability and longevity. As you earn money, you may consider investing in your army. As a result, you will strengthen your forces and improve your prospects of success. However, you can enhance each troop as you see fit, which expands your tactical possibilities.
Operation: Polygon Storm is a decent indie game.
At first, I wasn’t impressed. The gameplay seemed uninteresting, and I had trouble understanding the central concept. However, after some time and work, my opinion changed. As a result, I loved the minor tactical components and the difficult situations. Furthermore, victory felt amazing, especially in the later stages. As a result, it’s a decent indie title, and I recommend purchasing it here! Can you win every battle? Choose your troops, spend carefully, and be prepared to react to any situation.
