As the year draws to a conclusion. ..
It’s the season of Christmas hassle, large exams, and work-life crunch time. Post-October may be the most stressful time of year for the majority of us. Furthermore, the days become darker and colder. Why not relax, curl up on the couch with plenty of blankets and a nice drink, and play a comfortable video game?
In early October, indie developer Ogre Pixel published Hidden in My Paradise, a lovely, cozy, puzzle-based hidden object game designed to provide players with a brief and sweet burst of mental stimulation.
Fae, fauna, and flora, oh my!
Tour various landscapes with Laly, a blue-haired amateur photographer, and her little fairy friend, Coronya. Explore gorgeously detailed settings to locate hidden flowers, camp things, and critters galore, take a variety of adorable photos, and immerse yourself in a pleasant, small world.
There are a total of 25 levels (“paradises”). Players will go through forests, beaches, cityscapes, farms, and even the newly added Halloween stages. Players must find a predetermined number of hidden objects, locate secret fairies by dragging around items (often behind shrubs and flowers), and build photogenic landscapes. While the game is not tough, if players are having problems finding an object, they can click on Coronya the fairy for hints and tips.
A little corner of bliss.
Mechanically, the game is rather basic. To locate things, gamers simply point and click on them. You may also move and rotate things, which is especially important for discovering fairies and recreating images. The game is short, but each level may take 15 to 30 minutes to complete at your own pace. It is not difficult to do all of the tasks, but it may require careful attention.
Each paradise can be enhanced with a filter, such as sepia, cold color boost, inversion, or even making the picture entirely green. Levels will be established automatically in the morning, evening, and night, although players can alter them to improve visibility or for aesthetic reasons.
Another interesting aspect of Hidden in My Paradise is the Mario Maker-style sandbox tools. Create your own levels or play others’ creations online! To unlock more objects for designing these levels, earn coins by playing the main game and discovering secret treasure boxes. Players can also use their in-game tickets to play the gacha machine and receive additional unique goodies. The sandbox element is tons of fun and simple to use. I adore spamming the animal, which clearly resembles Eevee. ..
Through the Looking Glass.
The game is designed in a lovely, childlike chibi style with bright colors, similar to a more attractive and soft Toca Boca game. Even if scenes are difficult to see, gamers can easily adjust the filter settings as previously stated. The paradises are not overwhelming or disorganized at all; all of the visuals work together to create a cohesive, clear, gorgeous world.
The only complaint is the sound design, or lack thereof. The squishy sound effect while clicking objects is pleasant, but the same background track plays on a continuous loop. This can become tiresome after a while, so it’s best to play on silent and create your own comfy soundtrack.
The unique variety of activities adds to the appeal of each level, setting this hidden object game apart from the competition. Hidden in My Paradise is definitely worth a try, and it could be a terrific way to relax and escape from the world, even if only for a few moment. ..
